Insieme alla moglie Trudie Styler, Sting ha fondato nel 1989 il Rainforest Fund per proteggere sia le grandi foreste che gli indigeni che le abitano. Insieme hanno organizzato 19 concerti benefici raccogliendo fondi e portando all’attenzione mondiale i problemi legati allo sfruttamento delle risorse del nostro pianeta.
Fin dalla sua nascita, la fondazione ha lavorato a livello internazionale tanto da essere oggi presente in oltre 20 paesi in 3 continenti.
